Department of Government Valuation
The Department of Government Valuation (DGV) provides an important service in assisting Local Authorities enhance their revenue base through rating programme. It also carries out the functions of advising on rentals, sale of and outright purchase of land and buildings, plant and machinery and furniture and equipment, for other Government departments as well as the general public.
Departmental Goal and Objectives
In line with the Ministry mission, which is to facilitate the effective provision of quality services by local authorities, the Department’s goal is to provide statutory valuation and property consultancy services cost effectively and advise on real estate issues to clients’ satisfaction.
The Departmental objectives are implementing Government policy on real estates, prepare and implement the National Rating Programme, sensitise councils on the implementation of the Rating Act, effectively service the Rating Valuation Tribunal and advise Government on Property Tax through the Zambia Revenue Authority.
